I recently finished writing the trailer for "There's Something In The Woods" and I can't stress how absolutely fun it is to score horror! It's satisfying in an aesthetic way because my music and style is absolutely rooted in the unknown and the arcane, but also because I get to flex every part of my musical chops! You're switching from more traditional techniques and orchestration to completely wild and strange sounds that the orchestra sounds like it shouldn't be able to make!
It's also worth mentioning that hearing the final outcome is ALWAYS the most satisfying part of the job.
As I've finally settled into my new studio in Los Angeles, I'm extremely excited to announce that I'll be scoring Jerry Gonzalez's new short; There's Something in the Woods!
The film is heavily influenced by classic and modern horror of all types and is absolutely a genuine love letter to the genre and its roots in practical effects. With influences ranging from Evil Dead to The Witch, and the Universal classics, we're going to make something that's truly memorable and truly terrifying!
You can find more at the GoFundMe page for the project, as well as hear a little taste of what my score will sound like in the traile...
Welcome to my website! If it's your first time here, feel free to take a listen to some of my more recent tracks at the top of the page! It's been a long, stressful, and productive year getting this all set up, but here we are.
